Internships in Mexico

Learn Spanish while gaining career experience abroad.

These innovative Spanish 'hands on" language programs are available for students with specific career goals. Internships and service learning opportunities provide a chance for students to integrate their Spanish language skills with experiential learning in Mexico´s industrial, commercial, educational, agricultural, media, or governmental sectors.

If you want academic credit for an internship or a service learning program, contact your home department to find out the number of hours and credits you can receive, and if there is a minimum stay required. We recommend a stay of at least five weeks, up to an entire year. Be sure to have your plan approved in advance of travel to Mexico by your home institution so your credits will be transferred without a problem. Contact us to work out the details.

Short-term internships, long-term internships and service learning opportunities are customized to meet your career goals. You'll perfect your language skills at Kukulcan and work (part time or full time) to gain experience in your field. We can help you with living arrangements during your stay in Mexico. Internships and service learning work are considered educational experiences, and there is no salary attached to the work you do.

Volunteer opportunities are also available for students who do not need academic credit for their work in Mexico. If you would like to volunteer a few hours a week (or more) while you're studying at Kukulcan, we help place you in local institutions and services where you will have an opportunity to practice Spanish and interact with native speakers. Doing volunteer work in Mexico is a wonderful way to gain practical experience and integrate yourself into the community, while practicing responsible global citizenship.
