Spanish for Nurses

Two-week intensive course for nurses working with Latino patients.

In today's world, it's becoming increasingly important for professional nurses to speak Spanish and understand Latino culture when working with Hispanic patients. Kukulcan offers an intensive two-week program that covers Spanish grammar, medical terminology, conversational practice, and cultural awareness, specially designed for people in the nursing profession.

Whether you're a beginner in Spanish or have some experience with the language, our programs for nurses take your skills to a new level. We offer grammar lessons in two-week modules that focus on practical, conversational fluency, and target vocabulary and structures you need to communicate with your patients. In addition to these classes, we provide many opportunities to enhance your skills through role-play workshops, where patients, doctors, nurses, and other health care professional discuss real-life problems.

We also include lectures and workshops given by local health care professionals who specialize in traditional (natural) medicine. Mexico is recognized as one of the world leaders in this field, and our professionals explain how natural medicine is used in combination with modern scientific methods to provide a holistic approach to health care. In addition, we offer cultural workshops that teach participants about the importance of Mexican customs, family traditions, herbal remedies, spiritual healing, and the cultural significance of alternative medicine for Hispanic patients. We include visits to local hospitals, orphanages, shelters and homes for people with special needs to increase awareness of cultural differences between health care institutions in Mexico and other countries.
